Notice of Rulemaking, January 13, 2025

NOTICE:

The Independent Ethics Commission issues this notice of rulemaking, proposing to amend its Rules of Procedure.  The proposed rules may be accessed through this link.

The purpose of the proposed rules is to administer and enforce the requirements of Article XXIX of the Colorado Constitution. The Commission is authorized to adopt such reasonable rules as may be necessary for the purpose of administering and enforcing the provisions of Article XXIX of the Colorado Constitution.  Colo. Const. art. XXIX, § 5(1).

The Commission invites written public comment on the proposed rules.  Any person interested in filing written comments may do so by emailing comments to iecinfo@state.co.us.  Written comments may also be mailed to the Independent Ethics Commission, 1300 Broadway, Suite 240, Denver, CO 80203.  Email is preferred.  Written comments must be received no later than February 14, 2025.

The Commission will consider any timely-filed written comments at its scheduled meeting on March18, 2025, and/or at any scheduled or rescheduled date listed below.  The Commission publishes its meeting agendas to its main and agendas webpages.  The Commission may, in its discretion, authorize oral public comments regarding the rulemaking or filed public comments.  Persons interested in the rulemaking proceedings are encouraged to attend the meeting(s).  The Commission may order additional meetings to consider the proposed rules and/or to receive additional public comment.
